<p>Running a mobile disco has been in my family for some time, my father ran a mobile disco for the last 40 years and the torch was passed to myself and my brother (who runs a Disco on the south coast).</p>
<p>I have been involved with mobile discos for the last 23 years. Should you require music for a wedding , anniversary, birthday or any other event we can provide an entertaining evening for you and your guests.<br />
We cover the east midlands and midlands area centered on Northampton. Our equipment is suitable for all venues. We have a fantastic lighting show and a great choice in music. We take requests or a playlist of your choosing. Our music goes from the 1930&#8217;s to current chart music and all in between.</p>
<p>We use all new lighting effects including fully computerised lighting, starcloth backdrops for that romantic cosy feel. Or try our nightclub style lighting if you want something more dynamic.</p>
<p>With lots of packages on offer you get to choose the setup you want for your party.</p>
<p>Available for short notice or long booked appointments.<br />

<p>We are currently  one of the best value for money discos in the area with an extensive lighting show as well as a selection of music that bring back memories of the past or create new ones to look back on in the future.</p>
<p>I’m currently 32. I have been active in music and mobile Discos for most of my life (growing up as the son of a DJ does that for you). I  personally get a great feeling from seeing all the happiness my work brings to people on their special days, be it weddings anniversaries and such.</p>
<p>I spend of most of my days trawling music shops and Disco supply shops to get the best sound and vision I can for my customers. And I am always asked on the phone are you a full time Disco, and the answer is yes. This is what I do and the fact I make a living from it tells you the commitment I have to making all my events memorable.</p>
<p>Q.        Do you have PLI and what is it?</p>
<p>A. PLI stands for public liability insurance. This means we are insured if we cause damage to persons or property our insurance will pay any damages. Most venues require this from your DJ and will turn them away if they do not have it. We DO have PLI and all certificates are available for viewing.</p>
<p>Q. Are you P.A.T tested and what is it?</p>
<p>A. P.A.T testing is required by law for any person or business that uses portable electrical devices. It stands for Portable Appliance Testing. All our equipment is tested annually by outside contractor to assure you that our equipment is safe for use. Most venues also require this from your DJ and any DJ without it may be turned away.</p>
<p>Q. How long do you play music for?</p>
<p>A. All our packages on our price guide page include up to 4 hours of music time. Extra time can be purchased for £20 per half hour increment on top of this. Or £25 if booked on night.</p>
<p>Q. Can I provide a playlist or list of songs I must have for my function?</p>
<p>A. Yes of course you can. We carry a huge collection of music with us at all times anyway so if you do not wish to provide a list we can still cater for all your needs. I have a lot of experience with selecting music for a crowd and choosing too many songs in your list may tie my hands a little. But it is your function and if you choose this then we will by all means oblige.</p>
<p>Q. Are you a full time DJ?</p>
<p>A. Yes I am DJ full time and can provide parties any time during the week or weekend. Being full time also means that I have racked up a lot of hours at events and would like to think I can cater for most if not all events and eventualities.</p>
<p>Q. What sort of music can you provide?</p>
<p>A. Well I have an extensive collection of music covering all genres including : Motown, Jazz, Disco, House, Pop, Trance, Club, Garage, RnB, Rock n Roll, Britpop, Reggae, Ska, Grunge, Indie, Ballroom, 1940’s wartime, and many others. And should you have a special song we do not have for your event, let us know in advance and we will do our best to make sure we have it. At no extra charge.</p>
<p>Q. Do you do Karaoke?</p>
<p>A. Im afraid we do not provide this service.</p>
<p>Q. Can we use your equipment?</p>
<p>A. No , I am afraid our insurance does not allow this. We can offer use of a microphone for speeches etc but other than this only insured persons can touch or use our equipment.</p>
<p>Q. What is the difference between smoke and haze and are they suitable for asthmatics?</p>
<p>A. Smoke and haze are almost the same effect, the only difference is one is almost invisible and the other is visible to the eye. Neither one will effect asthmatics as they are a water based effect and non toxic. Smoke is best used for making the beams of our lighting stand out as seen in the pictures in our gallery here. Haze does the same thing but is less likely to set off smoke alarms and is less visible to the naked eye.</p>
<p>Q. How do I book?</p>
<p>A. You can email me to book , or you can ring me on 01604 406500. We ask you a few simple questions like: venue, times, your address, contact number, package required, is it upstairs and is there parking available. When we have this information we then create your contract. 2 copies will be sent to you , one to send back after being signed, the other for you to keep. We include a free stamped addressed envelope for you to send our copy back. We ask for minimum deposit of £20 to be included to secure your booking. And that’s it, booked. You can relax in the knowledge that your disco will be there on time and ready to play as agreed in the contract.</p>
<p>Q. What is Produb</p>
<p>A. A Produb Licence is used by DJ’s who use a digital playout system like a computer laptop or dedicated music controller (which is what we use). A DJ who uses one of these devices for your disco will require one of these or he is breaking the law. This is quite a new introduction and venues are starting to require this to allow your disco to take place.</p>

<p>At Rainbow Discos we specialise in Mobile Disco&#8217;s, Karaoke Hire and Disco entertainment. We are also equipped to provide charity events including race nights. <p>My name is David Lee Jones, I’m 37, and I have been a Wedding DJ, Mobile Disco and DJ Service provider for over  12 years, and in that time I have provided Disco Services for all sorts of Wedding Discos, Private Parties, Christmas Parties, School Proms and Corporate Functions with crowds from 40 Guests upto 1200 party revelers.</p>
<p>Your wedding day, the one day you do not want to leave to chance. By booking me as Your Wedding DJ and Disco, you will be hiring the Services of someone who wants to help, to give you the day, you have been dreaming of.<br />
Everything is done to make your day the unique and perfect event you want it to be. You can choose the size of the sound system to the lighting set-up used. You want some Venue Lighting to compliment the colour scheme of the room, not a problem. From big choices like music, to finer things like bubbles or flame lights, everything is customizable to you and your ideas.</p>
<p>I usually like to visit you to discuss your ideas so I can give you my advice on how to make your ideas become reality, while offering alternatives you may not have thought of. As mentioned with over 12yrs experience it would be a shame for you not to use it.</p>
<p>This &#8216;no hassle&#8217; chat is about bringing your ideas to life, not a hard sales pitch, I encourage you not to sign on the day, to make sure when you do decide, it&#8217;s right for you.</p>
<p>Would you like background music while guests arrive throughout the day, or maybe during the meal? Do you have a large room and you would like to use a P. A. system for speeches, again not a problem. Having a band as well? No worries I’ve worked along side singers, bands, musicians and comedians many times. Would you like a dance floor that lights up?</p>
<p>All though I will have an idea before hand of what is needed, the one thing all this experience has given me is the ability to read a crowd and change the music accordingly. Playing what people want to dance to, is one of the most important tools a DJ can have.</p>
<p>All thou I do use the microphone, I do not tell you the song and artist of every song, I am not a &#8216;Personality DJ&#8217;. It&#8217;s a bit of a cheesy line but &#8220;I let the music do the talking&#8221;. You and your guests want to listen and dance to great music not the ramblings of a dj who thinks he&#8217;s either a walking encyclopedia of music or a failed comedian.</p>
<p>On all events, musical guidelines are taken before the day with general and specific songs to play and to avoid, plus taking requests on the day so everyone can enjoy their time there. Now there is also an online event planner whereby not only can you organise your event, you can also request songs, and manage the playlist, along with taking requests from you guests on line as well. Please ask for more information.</p>
<p>I also offer to meet up before you decide weather to book me, to go over your plans for your event and to see how I can make your plans come to life. This way you get to meet me and see if we are compatible. Also I find it helps on the night if you have a face and some who knows what YOU want at the head of the party proceedings.</p>
<p>As a professional all my equipment is regularly P.A.T and I have P.L.I. to give you full peace of mind. Copies of certificates can be forwarded to venues on request.</p>

In our opinion, your evening reception should be given as much time, preparation and thought as everything else on your day.</p>
<p>We always set up our equipment at the agreed time, making sure that we always arrive at the venue well in advance of the playing time. We will always be smartly presented, polite and responsive your needs. We can set up in the morning or 60 minutes before you want us to start playing &#8211; it&#8217;s completely up to you!</p>
<p>We will gladly play from lists provided in advance, which ensures the bride and groom will always hear the music they have requested. This is particularly important for those having a first, second, or last dance!</p>
<p>When it comes to celebrating your wedding you will want to choose an evening of entertainment that compliments and enhances such a special occasion.</p>
<p>Much more than music! Playing great music is only one part of the key to success for your reception. Making all your guests feel included with dancing, singing, and fun are also essential elements, plus if you want them, you can also choose optional extras of party games, a fun pub style quiz, and a &#8220;Stars in Your Eyes&#8221; cabaret!</p>
<p>Just to make sure that everyone is entertained we carry give-aways to keep the younger children occupied during the early parts of the evening.</p>
<p>Depending on our clients wishes we can include a site visit.</p>
<p>What better way to ensure that everyone enjoys themselves at your event than to have great music being played.</p>
<p>Getting people up on the dance floor and dancing the night away is a great way to get people to remember your event for years. Add in one or more of our optional extras of party games, a pub style quiz, or a &#8220;Stars in Your Eyes&#8221; cabaret and the event will really go with a bang!</p>
<p>We offer a mixture of music from the 1950&#8217;s to the present day, and you can either leave the music selection down to us, or we can play from a pre-arranged play list so that you will definitely get to hear the exact songs you want.</p>
<p>Whatever the occasion we will always arrive smartly dressed and ready for action! We&#8217;ll always be available to answer any questions or queries you have, and you can rely on us to be polite.</p>

<p>Every booking we receive is treated as though it&#8217;s our first, with every effort made to ensure that the client is totally happy with the entertainment that we provide. <p>We have a wide range of music available including over 7000 songs from the 1950&#8217;s to the present day. Our lighting and equipment is always thoroughly checked (and then re-checked!) before each and every use, but we still carry backup equipment just in case!</p>
